AF&PA says court decision to vacate stay of Boiler MACT rules jeopardizes US jobs

WASHINGTON, DC, Jan. 10, 2012 (Press Release) - American Forest & Paper Association President and CEO Donna Harman today issued the following statement regarding Judge Friedman's District Court decision to vacate the stay of the Boiler MACT rules.

"Judge Friedman's decision to invalidate EPA's stay of the Boiler MACT and Incinerator rules jeopardizes jobs at a time when the economy can least afford it. This ruling reinforces the urgent need for prompt congressional passage of the EPA Regulatory Relief Act. The legislation will provide EPA with the time it needs to fully analyze and prepare a new rule. It will also provide the critically-needed legal and business certainty to avoid putting tens of thousands of manufacturing jobs at risk."
