Ovivo to deliver energy-efficient water plant and bioenergy producing wastewater treatment plant to Stora Enso’s Ostroleka mill in Poland

TURKU, Finland, Oct. 17, 2011 (Press Release) - Ovivo - a leading water and wastewater solution provider - and Stora Enso, one of the largest paper and board producers in the world, have agreed to the delivery of a water treatment plant and a wastewater treatment plant. This investment concerns high performance technology for the production of top-quality pure water for the mill's power plant as well as bioenergy producing BAT (Best Available Technology) wastewater treatment plant.

The agreed delivery is part of Stora Enso's EUR 285 million investment in a new containerboard machine at the Ostroleka Mill in Poland. Stora Enso's objective is to offer demanding customers new packaging solutions. This is also another step in building sustainable and profitable growth for the Company.

Ovivo's delivery includes a mill water treatment plant, expansion of demineralisation and condensate polishing and anaerobic and aerobic wastewater treatment technologies. Ovivo has delivered the first phase of the demineralisation and condensate polishing system to Stora Enso in 2010.

These technological solutions meet highest demands for energy and water saving and for treated water quality in the paper production, boiler plant and recipient. Ovivo's technology team built a solution to exploit the produced bio-energy from wastewater process at the Mill's power plant.
