Kruger files for $39.8M in construction financing and transferred plant ownership for possible Memphis tissue expansion [From the web]

MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE, Aug. 18, 2011 (Local News) - Canadian tissue paper manufacturer Kruger continues to get its ducks in a row for possible expansion of its Memphis mill.

K.T.G. (USA) Inc., which runs the former Kimberly-Clark mill at 400 Mahannah, on Tuesday filed for $39.8 million in construction financing and transferred plant ownership to the Industrial Development Board under terms of a tax abatement approved in June.

The city and county would forego collection of about $45 million in property taxes over 15 years as incentive for a $312 million expansion and modernization that would add 100 employees, bringing mill employment to 394.
