PMT installs new shoe press unit at Ruby Macons mill in Vapi, India

PINEROLO, Italy, Feb. 16, 2010 (Press Release) - On January 22nd, 2010 the first shoe press on packaging grades in India has been started up. This PMT Shoe Press is included in a major rebuild of the press section of Ruby Macons PM#3 in Vapi producing Fluting and Test Liner. The machine has a wire of 4900mm and produces a wide range of basis weights, mainly 140-230gsm but is designed to produce 100-400gsm.

PMT Italia has been selected by Ruby Macons for this challenging project considering the expertise demonstrated by PMT in many other Shoe Press installations both in Europe and in other geographical areas.

As part of the project, Ruby Macons made part of the press rebuild under the PMT basic engineering, showing an excellent capability to work as a team together with PMT. The machine is under optimisation, but the preliminary indications show an interesting dryness increase and a relevant machine efficiency improvement.
