Ultimate Paper Box installs sheeter from MarquipWardUnited at California plant

PHILLIPS, WI, March 3, 2011 (Press Release) - Ultimate Paper Box, a leading carton and LITHO printer in City of Industry, Calif., has invested in a 1450 TSKM sheeter from MarquipWardUnited. The 57-inch maximum width dual rotary sheeter (which is also available in 65-inch) is equipped with the D2 splicer and nonstop pallet change feature, which allows continuous operation during both roll changes and pallet changes. The D2 splicer also allows lighter substrates to be sheeted two webs up, with each web having its own dedicated tension control and progressive decurler systems.

"As our business has grown, our goal is to lower operating costs and reduce lead times on custom-sized sheets. That search for the best sheeting equipment around led us to MarquipWardUnited," explained Ultimate Paper Box owner Janak Patel. A similar 1450 TSKM has been operating at another packaging plant in nearby Corona, Calif., which specializes in pharmaceutical packaging. Patel added that he was "very impressed by the performance of the TSKM in a highly productive operation specializing in short runs. The sheeter at Corona produces little waste and very high quality sheets."

Ultimate Paper Box installed its 1450 TSKM sheeter in December 2010.
