Investlesprom carries out preliminary testing for LWC production at Kama mill in Russia

KRASNOKAMSK, Russia, March 21, 2011 (Press Release) - At the first light-weight coated (LWC)production complex in Russia which is under construction at the LLC "PPM Kama" facility(part of Investlesprom Group , Krasnokamsk city, Permskiy krai ) start-adjusting works have begun.

According to the schedule idle running tests are carried out on mechanics of a new paper-making machine -7(PMM-7, in the picture) and subsidiary units. Foreign experts are taking part in the process. As soon as technological process at PMM-7 is adjusted, test paper manufacture will begin.

According to the schedule the first lot of light-weight coated paper will be manufactured at Kama already in the second quarter of this year.

According to Sergey Maslov, technical development Director of JVC "Investlesprom" "Pulp-paper production" Division , Investlesprom continues to implement the project of wide range of coated papers manufacture at the mills of the Group within the frame of the company's strategy. PMM-7 starting at pulp&paper mill "Kama" - is just the beginning. Simultaneously alternatives of construction of a PMM of much capacity for other types of coated paper manufacture under "Vologda paper manufacture" project at Sokol'skiy PPM are considered. Investlesprom also investigates possibilities for further development of "kamskaya" production facility.

Our reference. In Autumn, 2007 the management of Investlesprom Group and PPM "Kama" initiated launching of light-weight coated paper production (LWC). The project named "LWC-Kama" - is the first in Russia for foundation of such a production, aimed at meeting the demand and replacing the majority of similar goods imported from Europe and Asia.
