Mondi Frantschach PM6 breaks speed world record for sack kraft paper machines

PINEROLO, Italy, Jan. 10, 2011 (Press Release) - One month after having installed a new PMT SMARNIP® mini shoe press, the 4.5 m wide PM6 at Mondi Frantschach (A) has broken the speed world record of sackkraft paper machines, producing for over 24 hours in a row at 1002 m/min at the pope-reel, in November 2010.

The successful cooperation between Mondi Frantschach and PMT Italia started in 2009 with the installation of a new M4 headbox and a new PMT shoe press on PM7, producing MG papers at a maximum speed of 450 m/min.

Mondi Frantschach and PMT Italia have jointly applied innovative concepts making both machines a benchmark in the respective market segments.
