US, Korean venture plans $100M paper mill in Philippines using corn stalks, rice hay [From the web]

CAUAYAN CITY, Philippines, Oct. 13, 2011 (Local News) - "A hundred million dollar foreign investment project in the province will be implemented particularly in paper production out of corn stalks," Governor Faustino G. Dy III revealed today.

The paper mill project is a joint business venture of American and Korean investors who wanted to put up a paper mill Cauayan using corn stalks and rice hays which are considered as waste materials.

Dy said that in the past three to four months, the representatives of the Korean and American firms made a survey and feasibility studies and have decided to establish paper mill facilities in the early quarter next year.
