Bowater Mersey, NewPage save ‘marginal’ amount under special energy rate at Nova Scotia mills [From the web]

HALIFAX , Dec. 7, 2011 (Chronicleherald.ca) - Nova Scotia Power's two largest customers spent $110 million on electricity over the past year under their old special rate.

Bowater Mersey Paper Co. Ltd. and NewPage Port Hawkesbury Ltd. bought 1,740 gigawatt hours of power in their extra-large industrial class, the utility says in a report released this week by the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board.

The annual report covers the period of Nov. 1, 2010, to Oct. 31, 2011.
