Sony creates wastepaper-powered paper battery using enzyme cellulase [From the web]

LONDON, Dec. 20, 2011 (Economic Times) - Sony which offered an iconic product like the Walkman, running on a bio battery, has now come up with one that digests waste paper to provide energy.

The prototype on display at Eco-Products 2011 in Tokyo, uses enzymes to break down waste paper into a fuel which can be used to power a tiny fan.

The process is unlike conventional batteries and much more like the action of a digestive system, the Daily Mail reported.
