Kadant receives order from Colombian tissue producer

VITRY-LE-FRANÇOIS, France, Nov. 26, 2008 (Press Release) - Kadant Lamort SAS, a subsidiary of Kadant Inc., received an order during the third quarter for a stock preparation system from Productos Familia S.A. for its new PM 7 to be installed at its Cajicá mill near Bogotá, Colombia.

The 130 tons-per-day de-inking (DIP) system for PM 7 is similar to the Kadant DIP system previously supplied for the mill's PM 6. The furnish for the new tissue machine is 100 percent mixed office waste. The compact DIP system to be supplied includes two bleaching stages, a DNT washer and thickener, low-speed kneader, and two ScreenONE™ screening systems. The equipment is scheduled for delivery in mid-2009.

Productos Familia S.A. is Colombian company, jointly owned by SCA, specializing in the production and commercialization of personal and home cleanliness products. The Company's product mix includes toilet paper, paper towels, hand towels, tissue boxes, napkins and anti-bacterial papers. Productos Familia operates a total of six production plants located in Colombia, Ecuador and the Dominican Republic.
