TietoEnator provides order-to-cash solution to KapStone Paper & Packaging

ESPOO, Finland, April 21, 2008 (Press Release) - TietoEnator has delivered a Sales Order Processing (SOP) solution to KapStone at their Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina facilities. The mill supplies kraft paper and lightweight linerboard to customers in North America and Europe.

The project integrated TietoEnator's Elixir(r) product with Microsoft Dynamics AX(r) and KapStone's legacy manufacturing execution system (MES). The Elixir product is based on the Windows Server operating system, benefiting from its open, standards-based technology. The solution provides a full feature set focused on the paper industry, including order entry, production scheduling, paper machine trim, transportation planning, and invoicing. The TietoEnator project was accomplished in just under three months.

Christophe Deslandes, CIO of KapStone says: "We selected TietoEnator to help us meet a very tight schedule and they delivered for us. Their Elixir product is a perfect fit for our requirements, is built on our preferred technology platform, and provides Customer Service and Planning the tools they need to deliver for our customers. The TietoEnator Forest team and methods met and exceeded our high expectations."

To provide a value-added solution to KapStone on their tight deadlines, the new SOP had to map directly to KapStone's current business processes without the requirement for a large change management effort. Steve Latham of TietoEnator Forest in North America says: "KapStone had a detailed plan out-of-the-gate, had already performed much of the integration analysis, and has a highly professional and motivated staff -factors that led directly to the success of the project. The teamwork displayed in working as a true partnership was outstanding."
