CN Rail to expand intermodal facility in Prince George, BC, for wood, pulp and paper backhaul exports to Asia [From the web]

PRINCE GEORGE, BC, Aug. 12, 2011 (Local News) - CN Rail has announced plans for a $3.2-million dollar expansion that includes hiring 25 additional employees at its Prince George intermodal distribution facility, adjacent to its railyard, between 1st Avenue and River Road.

The $20-million dollar distribution centre opened in October of 2007 to tap into the backhaul export opportunities moving through this region, filling empty containers moving back to Asia through the Port of Prince Rupert with products like lumber panel, wood pulp, and paper. As of July 2010, there were 30 containers being 'stuffed' at the Prince George centre per week.
