Voith group announces new president, other board changes

SAO PAULO, March 19, 2008 (Press Release) - Hubert Lienhard will assume in April the worldwide presidency of Voith group. Lienhard has been with Voith as a member of the group’s board and president of Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation Division, and will replace Hermut Kormann in the new position.

The change was defined by the management council during an ordinary meeting in October 2007. Kormann joined Voith in 1989 and is currently 66 years old. He worked as the former J.M. Voith GmbH’s CFO. In 1991, Kormann was named member of the board. In 1997, when Voith AG replaced J.M. Voith GmbH, he became responsible for the finance and controlling departments. Since April 2000, he has been president of the board, promoting the Voith group development.

Lienhard is 57 years old, married with two children, and has a great experience in the machinery and equipment industry. He joined Voith group in 2001 as member of the board. Since 2002, he has been Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation GmbH & Co. KG’s board president. While he has been in this position, the company’s orders doubled to Euro 1 billion.

Roland Münch will replace Lienhard in his former position. Münch started to work for the company in 2002 as a member of the board of Voith Paper Holding. At that time, he was responsible for the integration of Jagenberg AG’s paper technology area, which was acquired by Voith. After that, Münch became president of the board, in October 2002, being responsible for Voith Paper Automation Division. Since June 2006, he has been representative member of Voith group’s board.
