RICHMOND, VA , July 19, 2013 (RISI) -
South Central roundwood and chip prices were mostly flat in mid-July, matching second quarter results, contacts noted. Wetter weather recently, however, especially in Alabama, may challenge the current stability later in the third quarter, a manager noted.
Looking back, both Eastside and West, second quarter pine roundwood prices were broadly unchanged compared to the first quarter, according to RISI's International Woodfiber Report. Though unchanged, average prices represent a noticeable increase from the same period a year ago.
