China's Hunan Tiger tests plantation-fed pulp line



RICHMOND, VA , May 13, 2008 (RISI) - China's Hunan Tiger Forest & Paper has started test runs on a new pulp line at its greenfield mill in Huaihua city, Hunan province. The unit, which will consume about 1.4 million tons/year, will be fed with 70% softwood, including pine and fir, and 30% hardwood, including alder, poplar and eucalyptus, according to RISI’s Singapore office, most of that coming from Hunan Tiger's plantations in the area.
