Weyerhaeuser's TREE Act in peril: Bush to veto proposed Farm Bill -- but Congress may override



RICHMOND, VA , May 09, 2008 (RISI) - Demands by President Bush to pare subsidies to wealthy farmers leaves the White House and Congress on a collision course, the Wall Street Journal reported today. The promised veto jeopardizes the included TREE Act, legislation key to Weyerhaeuser the last two years for multi-million dollar tax reductions on its timberland earnings.
