PORTLAND, OR , March 19, 2013 (RISI) -
U.S. housing starts grew to a seasonally adjusted annual rate (SAAR) of 917,000, a 0.8% increase over the revised January estimate of 910,000 and 27.7% above the February 2012 rate of 718,000, according to the U.S. Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Building permit authorizations in February were at a SAAR of 946,000, up 4.6% from the revised January rate of 904,000 and 33.8% from the February 2012 estimate of 707,000.
