Lennar’s first quarter shows strong gains in revenues and profits



PORTLAND, OR , March 20, 2013 (RISI) - 

Lennar Corporation, one of the nation's largest homebuilders, reported earnings for the first quarter ended February 28, 2013, were $57.5 million, or $0.26 per diluted share, compared to first quarter net earnings of $15.0 million, or $0.08 per diluted share, in 2012.

Revenues from home sales increased 40% in the first quarter of 2013 to $855.1 million from $610.7 million in the first quarter of 2012. Revenues were higher primarily due to a 28% increase in the number of home deliveries.
