PORTLAND, OR , Dec. 19, 2012 (RISI) -
U.S. housing starts in November were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate (SAAR) of 861,000, down 3.0% from the revised October estimate of 888,000, according to the U.S. Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. In November 2011, starts were 708,000.
November single-family starts were at a SAAR of 565,000; down 4.1% from the revised October figure of 589,000. The rate for units in buildings with five units or more was 285,000, up from 281,000 in October.
