PORTLAND, OR , Feb. 11, 2014 (RISI) -
U.S. lumber imports in 2013 increased by 15.4% from 2012 to 11.22 billion board feet (bbf), according to Foreign Agricultural Service statistics. The 2013 total is the most since 2008.
Shipments from Canada made up 96.6% of the total shipped to the U.S. in 2013. Following Canada, Chile, New Zealand, Sweden, Brazil and Germany shipped the next largest volumes of lumber to the U.S.
