PORTLAND, OR , Dec. 10, 2013 (RISI) -
U.S. lumber production totaled 2.47 billion board feet (bbf) in September, down from 2.6 bbf in August, according to the Western Wood Products Association. The September figure is 12.9% above the September 2012 total. Total production for 2013 through September was 22.60 bbf, up 6.5% from the same period in 2012.
September production in the South was 1.23 bbf, down 4.3% from August but up 13.1% from September 2013. In the West, September output totaled 1.12 bbf, down 5.4% from August but up 12.7% from September of last year.
