PORTLAND, OR , March 6, 2013 (RISI) -
The Western Wood Products Association is forecasting 963,000 housing starts in 2013. The association expects construction of single-family houses at 678,000 this year and multi-family construction to total 284,000.
Starts in 2014 are projected to reach 1.179 million, 1.317 million in 2015 and 1.357 million in 2016. Single-family starts are expected to surpass 1 million in 2016.
