Ashland finalizes deal to acquire Hercules, Inc., creates chemical giant



PORTLAND, OR ,  (RISI) - Ashland, Inc., manufacturer of specialty chemicals and lubricants with headquarters in Covington, KY, has acquired Hercules, Inc. Hercules, founded in 1912, is a global manufacturer of chemicals used in industrial applications, paper manufacturing and household applications. It is also a manufacturer of industrial resins and chemical additives and adhesives used in manufacturing composites and in other wood products applications.
