Tembec announces quarter financials; net loss of $4 million



MONTREAL ,  (Press Release) - Consolidated sales for the three-month period ended September 27, 2008 were $629 million, down from $675 million in the comparable period of the prior year. The Company generated a net loss of $4 million or $0.04 per share in the September quarter compared to net earnings of $22 million or $0.25 per share in the comparable three-month period of the prior year. Earnings before unusual items, interest, income taxes, depreciation, amortization and other non-operating expenses (EBITDA) was $29 million for the three-month period ended September 27, 2008, as compared to EBITDA of $23 million a year ago and EBITDA of $9 million in the prior quarter.
