Economist, Latin America

The Economist, Latin America, will oversee data collection and banking for Latin American pulp & paper products; independently direct the production of products such as the Latin American Pulp & Paper Forecast and the Latin American components of the world pulp & paper products; produce and give presentations and Outlook Briefings; produce single-client and multi-client projects; interact regularly with clients; help drive the integration of data from across RISI departments and practices into a more modern format; work with sales and marketing staff to maximize revenues from product area. They will continue building knowledge and skills needed to step into a Senior Economist position in time.

Skills Required:
Strong understanding of economics, especially microeconomics, and econometrics; facility with many computer programs; proven ability to communicate orally and written; good understanding of market in which practice is operating; knowledge of data associated with market; ability to produce economic forecasts

Team Structure:
This role will report into a practice lead in Fastmarkets RISI economic analysis team and will work with and across many of the pulp and paper economic teams.

Desired Education:
Master’s degree, preferably in economics
