COVERAGE NOTE: Changes to Northwest US woodfiber assessments – Final Decision
BEDFORD, MA, June 12, 2019 (Fastmarkets RISI) – Fastmarkets RISI would like to confirm plans to make the following changes to its woodfiber and biomass price assessment coverage.
- Units of measure in price reporting will be changed from bone dry units (BDU) to bone dry tons (BTD).
- Separate prices shall be reported for residual mill chips and whole log chips.
- Northwest prices will be reported as one whole geographic region, rather than three small sub-regions.
The changes will take effect from Aug. 1, 2019.
Fastmarkets RISI launched a consultation on these changes in April 2019. No negative comments were received. The move is in keeping with changes in how woodfiber and biomass are traded in the US Northwest,
