COVERAGE NOTE: Changes to US Northwest woodfiber assessments – notice of implementation
BEDFORD, MA, Aug 08, 2019 (Fastmarkets RISI) – Fastmarkets RISI confirms prior announced plans to make changes to its wood chip and pulp log price assessment coverage in the US Northwest region.
- Units of measure in chip price reporting will be changed; bone dry units (BDU) will be reported as bone dry tons (BTD).
- Separate prices shall be reported for residual mill chips and whole logs.
- Northwest prices will be reported as one whole geographic region, rather than three small sub-regions.
The changes took effect from Aug. 8, 2019.
Fastmarkets RISI launched a consultation on these changes in April 2019. No negative comments were received. The move is in keeping with changes in how woodfiber and biomass are traded in the US Northwest.
