COVERAGE NOTE: Fastmarkets RISI confirms decision to discontinue Roll Goods and Cotton indices
Following market consultation, Fastmarkets RISI has decided to proceed with its proposal to discontinue Roll Goods and Cotton indices with effect from July 2020.
Among other outlets, these prices appear monthly in the Nonwovens Markets newsletter and the Nonwovens Price & Cost Monitor report, as well as the Fastmarkets RISI online portal and mobile app.
Fastmarkets RISI consulted on this proposal from March 3 until May 4, 2020. No objections were raised during this time.
The proposed move is in-line with a company-wide policy to improve price discovery processes and to focus attention on the most liquid, important markets. Fastmarkets RISI is unifying its price assessment methodologies and policies to comply with Fastmarkets’ internal guidelines and the IOSCO principles for price reporting agencies. In this environment, it is not feasible to continue assessing certain markets.
