David Fortin has been with RISI for more than 9 years. Before joining the Wood Products Economic Analysis team in 2013, he spent 7 years as a member of Fiber Economic Analysis team focusing on the global wood pulp market. As a member of the fiber team he assisted with the World Pulp Monthly, the quarterly World Pulp and Recovered Paper Forecast and all other recurring reports. He has taken part in completing multiple in-depth studies in both the fiber and wood products space. Since joining the wood products team he has had the opportunity to work closely with both Bernard Fuller, Principal Economist North American Wood Panels, and Robert Berg, Principal Economist North American Lumber. He is the co-author of the monthly Lumber Commentary and five and fifteen year North American Lumber Forecasts.
David has a master’s degree in international economics and finance from the International Business School at Brandeis University and has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
