AkzoNobel expands chemical island in Três Lagoas, Brazil

SAO PAULO, Oct. 24, 2017 (PPI Latin America) -AkzoNobel's Specialty Chemicals business has completed the expansion of a chemical island in Brazil to support a major project for Brazilian forestry company Fibria. The world's leading bleached eucalyptus kraft (BEK) pulp producer, Fibria has invested $2.2 billion to more than double pulp capacity at its BEK mill in Três Lagoas, Midwest Brazil, to 3.25 million tonnes/yr.
