Argentinean pulp, paper consumption falls through October

SAO PAULO, Jan. 29, 2019 (PPI Latin America) -Argentinean pulp and paper consumption declined in January-October 2018 over the year-earlier period, according to the Argentinean Pulp and Paper Assn (AFCP). Paper use was 2.3% lower in the period, at 1.9 million tonnes, while pulp consumption was 2.8% lower at 696,067 tonnes.

On the paper side, production through October rose 2.6% to 1.4 million tonnes, exports increased 4.8% to 133,749 tonnes and imports fell 11.2% to 594,768 tonnes.

On the pulp side, production in January-October 2018 declined 3.7% to 698,622 tonnes, exports fell 13.4% to 164,562 tonnes and imports dropped 10.3% to 162,007 ...
