BC government takes steps to slow log exports with new fees [From the web]

VICTORIA, BC, July 11, 2019 (Vancouver Sun) -The province stepped in Wednesday with a small measure that it expects will curb log exports from B.C.’s coast by about 15 per cent over the next couple of years.

Forest Minister Doug Donaldson said that while the measure might seem modest, it “is not the end goal, but a step in the direction we want to take,” in a transition for the timber industry on the coast.
