China’s Xinya Paper resurrects board project, converts straw pulp line for wood pulp

BEIJING, April 6, 2018 (PPI Asia) -Xinya Paper Group is reviving plans to erect a 400,000 tonne/yr cartonboard machine and an integrated 240,000 tonne/yr alkaline peroxide mechanical pulp (APMP) line at its mill in Xinxiang city, in China’s central province of Henan.

The pulp line used to produce softwood chemi-thermomechanical pulp at an unknown facility in Canada. 

In 2011 Andritz was tapped to convert it to hardwood APMP production at the Xinxiang mill with a potential daily capacity of 700 tonnes.

Its start-up was initially scheduled for the end of 2012.
