CROWS MARKET RECAP: Limited availability provides momentum for lumber and panel prices

PORTLAND, OR, Feb. 12, 2018 (RISI) -Despite an easing of sales activity in several markets, lumber and structural panel prices moved higher across North American markets during the week ending February 9, 2018, according to Crow’s Weekly Market Report.


Buyers pulled back from lumber markets in greater numbers, but strong order files at mills and some buyers still chasing the market kept upward pressure on prices. Supplies of several items also remained tight. Traders cited late shipments, steady 2018 price increases above record levels and having to persistently chase placed orders for what a few termed as “buyer fatigue.” ...
