The surprise announcement from Georgia-Pacific (G-P) that it will close uncoated freesheet production and the integrated fiber line at its large Port Hudson, LA, mill by mid-March represents a major shift in the North American uncoated freesheet market. This move comes after a similar shut at the company's Camas, WA, mill in February 2018, with both closures ending uncoated freesheet and integrated fiber production but leaving the now fully non-integrated tissue lines operational.
