Fibria begins BEK price hike round; APRIL to trim 100,000 tonnes in 2017

SAO PAULO, Oct. 24, 2017 (PPI Latin America) -A new pulp price increase round is expected to take place in November, after major suppliers Fibria and Arauco separately announced higher prices for their negotiations next month.

Fibria, the world's largest bleached eucalyptus kraft (BEK) supplier, was the first Latin American player to announce a new global $30/tonne price hike for its November sales. The company's BEK pulp list price in North America will move to $1,150/tonne, in Europe to $970/tonne, and in Asia to $780/tonne. The company previously raised its prices by $30/tonne globally in September and October.
