Fibria’s volume up 11% in 3Q with new BEK line; to cut Aracruz output by 200,000 tonnes in 2018

SAO PAULO, Oct. 24, 2017 (PPI Latin America) -Brazilian Fibria, the world's leading bleached eucalyptus kraft (BEK) pulp producer, had a 23.7% year-over-year increase in net revenues to Real 2.8 billion ($872.8 million) in the third quarter, while adjusted EBITDA rose 65.7% to Real 1.2 billion. Besides better pulp prices in the period, the company's EBITDA started to benefit from tonnages produced at its new 1.95 million tonnes/yr BEK line No. 2 in Três Lagoas city, Midwest Brazil, which kicked off in late August.
