Japanese P&B firms mostly in the black over last nine months of 2017
COLOGNE, Germany, March 9, 2018 (PPI Asia) -Most leading listed Japanese paper and board (P&B) firms turned net profits in the last nine months of calendar 2017.
However, those profits were largely down year-over-year as big slides in operating income cancelled out minor increases in sales revenues.
In those cases where net profits were up, it was often due to excellent performance in pulp business, as with Oji Holdings, or big write-downs during the final nine months of 2016, as with Nippon Paper Industries.
