Newsprint: India’s 10% duty may impact North Americans
TORONTO, ON, July 12, 2019 (PPI Pulp & Paper Week) -India's government last week levied import tariffs of 10% on imports of newsprint, uncoated mechanical (UM) – or "paper used in printing of newspapers" – and lightweight coated (LWC) paper used in printing of magazines, as part of the latest budget for the government of India.
The government also introduced a 5% duty on imports of printed books and manuals.
The new tariffs started on July 6.
