Non-wood Pulp: Columbia Pulp set for March startup, eyes tissue, molded fiber uses

OAKLAND, CA, Jan. 11, 2019 (PPI Pulp & Paper Week) -Columbia Pulp is set to start up in a little more than two months what is to be the first US pulp mill run on a wheat straw and seed alfalfa furnish, the company's top executive said. Columbia Pulp CEO John Begley toldPPI Pulp & Paper Weekon Jan. 4 that the startup was set for the end of March.

"That is our current plan. The Pilot Plant has been running since the fall," Begley said.
