Pulp: More $30 BEK hikes set as APRIL loses BHK output; NBSK to rise $80 in China

OAKLAND, CA, Oct. 27, 2017 (PPI Pulp & Paper Week) -The number of major bleached eucalyptus kraft (BEK) producers seeking higher worldwide prices in November grew to three this week, after Eldorado and Suzano separately added to a $30/tonne increase first set in motion by Fibria and word of yet another supply shock emerged in Indonesia ‒ where APRIL ceased all woodland activities in the Riau province on government orders that it expects will lead to a 100,000-tonne shortfall in bleached hardwood kraft (BHK) market pulp production by yearend.
