Recovered paper: Like China, Indonesia plans 0.5% contaminant rule, to inspect 100% of containers

NEW YORK, April 5, 2019 (PPI Pulp & Paper Week) -The Indonesian government first set a 0.5% contamination limit on imports of recovered fiber starting Apr. 1, following in the footsteps of China's March 2018 restriction, and then a few days later last week postponed the startup of the new rule. It's unclear what caused the announcement and then the delay, but US and Chinese contacts this week said they expected the move to 0.5% to eventually occur, although they were uncertain when it would start.
