Although the decline of print publishing and advertising is a persistent problem for many graphic paper buyers, the downward trajectory of graphic paper prices in 2012-2016 made the ongoing loss of market share and revenues to digital media somewhat more manageable. The five-year descent of pricing has sharply reversed since mid-2017, however, with US graphic paper prices in May 2018 already 7-21% higher than their year-ago levels.
