SBSK pulp gains $10/tonne in US spot markets; BHK flatlines on Midwest drag
OAKLAND, CA, Feb. 20, 2018 (RISI) -Three key grades of softwood and hardwood pulp were unchanged in US pulp spot markets, but southern bleached softwood kraft (SBSK) rose $10/tonne amid low supplies and steady demand, industry sources told RISI.
Northern bleached softwood kraft (NBSK) held unchanged at $770-810/tonne net delivered the US East and Midwest as mills continued holding little tonnage for non-contract customers. Buyers mostly rebuffed offers in the mid-$800s, deciding to instead take their full regular contract allocations.
