Some prices up on the Korean market in third quarter as RCP, pulp rises
COLOGNE, Germany, Sept. 28, 2017 (PPI Asia) -The Korean paper and board (P&B) market has been responsive to shifts in international conditions this quarter, particularly in terms of the influence China is bringing to bear on recovered paper (RCP) costs.
Domestic newsprint prices fell back from their Q2 list levels, going from Won 680,000/tonne ($595/tonne) to Won 650,000 - 670,000/tonne.
The second quarter saw Korean newsprint makers try to institute a Won 50,000/tonne increase, which as of now has only been partially successful.
