Specialty producer Thai Paper sets global hikes for glassine paper

SINGAPORE, March 30, 2018 (PPI Asia) -Thai Paper has slated price rises of $100-120/tonne for its glassine paper sold internationally and domestically in Thailand, effective April 1.

The firm ascribed the planned hikes to rising pulp costs.

The firm modified a printing and writing paper machine, PM 5, at its Banpong mill in Ratchaburi to manufacture glassine paper at a potential rate of 60,000 tonnes/yr two years ago.

The grade is sold to the label industry.
