Tightened inspections hit RCP import business hard in China

SINGAPORE, March 9, 2018 (PPI Asia) -The imported recovered paper (RCP) market in China has remained quiet over the past two weeks, with the country’s new 0.5% contaminant level coming into effect March 1.

Major RCP importers and suppliers that PPI Asia interviewed indicated that the Chinese government has strengthened the inspection of RCP cargoes at ports by teaming two agencies, The General Administration of Customs and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ), to check the goods.
