US BSK pulp spot markets unchanged on low volume, BHK declines $10/tonne after ‘rich’ deals wane

OAKLAND, CA, Jan. 16, 2018 (RISI) -In US pulp spot markets, producers continued to export at higher mill nets than they could squeeze out of North America, leaving prices flat in two grades of bleached softwood kraft (BSK). Hardwood markets declined $10/tonne after lower quotes in the US Midwest led overall prices down, industry contacts told RISI.

Benchmark northern bleached softwood kraft (NBSK) held unchanged at $770-810/tonne net delivered the US East and Midwest in RISI polling through January 12.
