Wood chips from AZ forest thinning project being test marketed to South Korea [From the web]

FLAGSTAFF, AZ, Aug. 13, 2019 (Arizona Daily Sun) -A new forestry project is currently measuring an opportunity to address parts of the northern Arizona forest industry’s biomass bottleneck by shipping wood chips out of the Flagstaff region to possibly produce electricity in South Korea.

As of Monday, the project has 60 shipping containers filled with wood chips waiting to be shipped by train and by sea to South Korean, shores where the price of non-renewable energy offsets the cost of using imported wood from Arizona.
